We offer quality game viewing safaris combined with the comfort of small numbered and exclusive accommodations. We dislike the word 'Luxury' but comfort, hospitality and safety of our guests are our priority and every effort will be made to ensure your safaris are enjoyed to the fullest.


Zimba Safaris travellers
The safaris we offer are ideal for singles, the first time traveller, the more experienced traveller, small groups seeking a high personalized bush experience and for those who travel by themselves but do not want to miss out a particular safari. For families and physically disabled people we offer custom made safaris. As there is, for most of the safaris, no minimum of participants required you can depart any day you like depending on availability.


Travelling with Zimba Safaris requires an adventurous, active and a slightly flexible attitude. Flexibility is required because during an adventurous trip sometimes things do not always turn out as planned. Suddenly the only road can be blocked by a fallen tree, long queues at the border or a delay because animals are crossing the road. Guides have an unconstrained attitude so that they can make a stop to do a short personal shopping. Nevertheless you will be able to take your advantage and get acquainted with the African people and its daily life.


Custom made safaris
All safaris are custom made against reasonable prices. We only cooperate with reliable local and private owned operators who also support the local people and its environment and we keep our prices equal to theirs. We offer seperate tour elements so you can put your itinerary together to your own interest and taste. Any safari or accommodation can be booked separately. There is a wide range of possibilities; would you like to extend your safari with a couple of days, do you wish to see a lot in a short time and save value time and money by using a private charter, are you interested in a particular animal, would you like to undertake a photographic safari, or do you prefer a private safari or maybe just one safari element privately and the rest joining others or maybe you have something to celebrate? If you tell us your wishes and desires we will help you with the preparation and composing your itinerary - we pretend as if we are travelling with you!.

Private or semi private
Besides private safaris - these or one of the best safaris but also the most expensive ones - we offer most of our safaris 'semi private'. This means you will go into the bush with just a small group - walking safaris maximum of 6 people and game drives and canoeing maximum of 8 people - or you travel with you own existing group.

Guides
All our qualified guides/hunters carry weapons and a radio, they are english spoken and possess over a comprehensive knowledge and intense passion for nature and because of the stringent training they belong to the best quides of Africa. Differently than the name hunter does suspect, they get approached by the goverment when big game is wounded by 'hunting tourism' or poachers and they have become extremely dangerous to the local people - Another reason why they are the best trained guides you can imagine. They know how to guide you through dense bush and will take you literally just upon a few metres distance from the animals.

Individuality
All of our safaris are flexible with the freedom of travelling individual. At most times you can discuss with your guide about the division of your day. Most safaris are done early in the morning, late afternoon and evening. If you wish to skip a safari and stay in bed a bit longer, or prefer a game drive or rather first a walking safari, it is all up to you. If you see anything of your interest during your trip, or you just would like to stop and visit the local market or a village, do not hesitate to ask your guide or driver. They are open-minded and when time's allow they will only be too pleased to guide you around.

Accommodation
The right accommodation is an add on value to your safari as it does intensify your African feeling. We prefer the small numbered and more intimate accommodation with an authentic emanation, deep into the national parks and managed by local operators. These operators support active as well financial the local people and its environment. Due to the small number of accommodations in the bush, the negative influences of mass tourism will be avoided so that exclusivity and a minimal damage to the ecosystem will be quaranteed. Some lodges can only accommodate up to 8 people. All accommodations mentioned in our website are comfortable/luxury but where possible we also can arrange budget accommodation. A backpackers hotel in Victoria Falls or Lusaka or midrange cottages based on self catering.

Browsing through our website you come across terms like 'campsites' or 'mobile tented camp'. This means NOT just a simple regular campsite but those are exclusive campsites deep within the national park and are only used by you and your guide. The comfortable mobile tented camps come with fully equiped kitchen and staff and at most times they are already set up before your arrival, they are designed to be erected and dismantled within hours. Leaving no trace of its existence on the environment and to ensure minimal damage to the ecosystem.
