You can break your active safaris with a short relaxing fishing safari with a minmum stay of 2 nights. But if you are a real angler you could even go on a complete 11 days combination trip.

Lake Kariba is one of the largest expanses of fresh water in the world and is home to a diverse fish population. Hiring a houseboat is a great when it comes to fishing expeditions, you have a dry, comfortable base, a tender to venture away from the boat and fish right up by the steep shoreline of the lake.
All accommodations are situated directly near the river or the lake offering unique opportunities for an unforgetable fishing adventure. You will have the use of a speedboat or a motorized raft and will be accompanied by a local driver/guide who will take you to the best spots and teach you some of the tricks they use to catch great fish!
The luxury Lodges and the Housboat are including guide, all meals, soft drinks, speedboat and fuel.

11 day Fishing Safaris ~ exploring the Zambezi
- Catch great fish whilst viewing wild animals drinking on the shoreline -
This is a fishing trip that you are not likely to ever forget. You will be taken to some of the best Bass dams in the country and
then onto the Zambezi River and Lake Kariba where you will fight the mighty Tiger Fish and ending your trip in Victoria Falls. Your accommodation will vary between luxury lodges and tented safari camps.
You will spend a good deal of your time in prime National Parks where you will be able to view Elephants, Hippos, Lions and much more
whilst fishing!
All your needs will be catered for, just bring your rods and tackle. You have a local guide who will meet you on arrival and stay with you for the whole duration of your fishing safari.
Day 1 to 3
On Arrival at Harare Airport you will be met by your guide and taken by car to the Gwebi Lodge on the Darwendale Dam. Here you will spend the next two nights and 3 days fishing for some excellent bass fishing in this well stocked dam. Speed boats are supplied and there is a good selection of local tackle which you may purchase if you so whish. This is a very comfortable lodge situated on the banks of Darwendale in a very secluded area.
DAY 3 to 6
After a quick early morning fish and breakfast you will be driven to the Harare Airport where you will connect with the flight to Kariba
in the Zambezi Valley. On arrival you will be taken across the border into Zambia to a fishing camp on the Zambezi River where you will spend the next 4 days / 3 nights fighting the mighty Tiger fish. You can use the speedboats or you can just as easily catch them from the bank, but watch out for the crocodiles! This lodge is situated right on the banks of the Zambezi River.
DAY 6 to 10
You will be driven back to Kariba from where you will leave by speedboat to the Sanyati West Camp in Matusadona National Park.
On arrival at Sanyati West Camp you will meet your personal armed guide who will brief you and show you to your tents. These are large two person tents with beds and mattresses. The ablutions consist of flush toilets with hot and cold water showers.
You will spend the next 5 days / 4 nights exploring the Matusadona National Park and Eastern Basin of Lake Kariba, which is well known for its excellent lion and black rhino populations.
Regular walks and drives with the professional armed guide from the tented camp are an extra option that you can make use of if you want a short break from fishing. Speedboats will be present so that you can get to the best spots and once again good fishing is to be gained just from the shore.
DAY 10 to 12
This morning you will be taken back to the Kariba Airport to connect with your Air Zimbabwe flight to Victoria Falls.
On arrival at Victoria Falls you will be collected by a company representative and taken to Hunters Lodge where you will spend the next 3 days/ 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Your time is for you to arrange according to what best suits you.
There are numerous options
including bungee jumping off the Vic Falls bridge, white water rafting, elephant back rides, hot air balloon, helicopter trips over the falls, night drives plus much more and of course FISHING! Your guide will discuss options on Vic Falls with you before your arrival so he can make some reservations. Otherwise, just see what takes your fancy when arriving there.
DAY 12
This afternoon you will be transferred back to the Vic Falls Airport where you will connect with your flight to Harare and for your
connection back home. Your guide will bid you farewell at the International Terminal.
