BOOK YOUR TRIP EARLY
We prefer to use small and intimate accommodations, managed by local touroperators who support the local people and their environments - at the most remote and unique locations avoiding mass tourism. These exclusive accommodations are extremely popular and are booked up very quickly. Some of them can only accommodate up to 8 people. If you are interested in any safari that we offer we advise you to contact us early so we can make arrangements and be sure to fit in the accommodation of your choice into your itinerary.

Zambia
Great Safaris that really has a lot to offer -
luxury and extraordinary hospitality in the heart of Africa. "
Zambia is a vast country, friendly and peaceful, that offers superb wildlife, remote game areas and memorable cultural encounters. Largely undiscovered by mass tourism it has been dubbed ‘The Real Africa’. It is the land of the legendary African walking safari.

Far away from other accommodations in the south of the Luangwa Valley you will find 5 different and exclusive Bushcamps, all situated along a lagoon or riverbed. Due to the small number of accommodations, - optimum number of guests is 6 to 8 - these bushcamps are ideal for small groups seeking a heightened personalized wilderness experience. All activities are tailored to individual tastes, and include walks, day and night game drives.

Walking safaris have long been an exciting way to re live the past, a way to follow in the footsteps of the great explorers. Straight from the camp you will be taken on a thrilling walking safari. After sunset you take part on a night-drive which will give you a different view of the African bush.

The camps are all within walking distance of eachother giving you the option to experience each bushcamp separately, walk through the park by day and spent the night at a new location, or to relax for the entire duration of your stay in the bushcamp of your choice. - As your steps carry you through the wilderness, you will spend the evenings relaxing in style.

The park’s 9050km2 is host to a wide variety of wildlife, birds and vegetation. The now famous ‘walking safari’ originated in this park is still one of the finest ways to experience this pristine wilderness first hand. Along the Luangwa river you can see plenty of wildlife. Besides the buffalo, giraffe, zebra, elephant, hippo, leopard and lion you can also find the rare wild dogs here.

The Bushcamps are accessible from May to November with exception of the Kapamba and Bilimungwe bushcamp. Thes Bushcampa are unique as they will be the only bushcamps to stay open until 30 December.

Out of this period you will stay at the Mfuwe Lodge with luxurious chalets situated along a riverbed or lagoon. Straight from this Lodge you go on safari. During december to april you can even take part on a river safari. You can see great numbers of hippos and crocodiles - an impressive transformation of the African Bush when everything is growing fast and all the young are being born.

Mfuwe Lodge and the 5 luxury bushcamps offers adventurers one of the largest surviving venues to relive the past solitude and grace of unchanged Africa and a chance to view and experience the bush in its most untouched and virginal forms. The high standards and personal attention to detail make each camp an individual luxury for the traveller. The combination of the adventure of walking, coupled with the opportunity to spoil yourself with hot refreshing showers and exceptional hospitality at each camp makes this the ultimate safari experience. If you are looking for the trip of your lifetime and the memories that go with it, You really can do no better than to visit the Luangwa Valley.

Bushcamps

All bushcamps offer accommodation up to 6 - 8 guests..

Chamilandu Bushcamp offers comfort, class and beauty in one of the Luangwa Valley's prime remote river locations. These 2m high tree house chalets are elegantly designed with a tasteful blend of modern classic decor.

The four poster beds enjoy a birds eye view over the waters of the Luangwa River and the abundant riverine wildlife that has made the valley famous. With the magnificent Nchindeni Hills as the backdrop for your view, Chamilandu affords you the majesty of Africa in all its forms.

Chindeni Bushcamp is situated on the edge of a permanent lagoon with the Chindeni Hills as a magnificent backdrop. Raised on wooden decking, 4 en-suite luxury tents with 2 queen-sized beds, hot and cold running water, shower, toilet, double vanities and polished floors. Each tent has its own raised veranda from which you can view the resident game and enjoy the serene yet breathtaking tranquility of the vast lagoon, from a vantage point of relative safety.

Bilimungwe Bushcamp is a cool and comfortable camp set beneath magnificent Mahogany trees on the edge of a small plain. Kapamba Bushcamp Situated in a prime location on the picturesque Kapamba River, the lodge offers the chance to enjoy this untouched corner of the National Park in luxurious surroundings. Each of the camp’s four chalets is individually designed to offer stunning views of the river, with the open-fronted style ensuring you can enjoy uninterrupted game viewing from the privacy of your own room. The en-suite bathrooms each have a double-sized sunken stone bath and spacious shower and are open-fronted, so why not unwind in a hot tub while watching the hippos in the river below?
