DAY 1
Departure

DAY 2
On arrival in Lusaka Airport you will be collected and driven to the Cutty Sark Hotel or the Carribea Bay Hotel in Kariba where you shall spend the night- B&B.

DAY 3 - 6
Your safari will depart from Kariba at 08h30 for shopping to purchase any extra drinks for your trip. You will be driven to Chirundu in open 4x4 vehicles, arriving approx. 11h30. The canoes and kit will be unloaded whilst a safety talk and demonstration of how to paddle a canoe will be given to you. From here you paddle downstream the river until your break for lunch which coincides with the heat of the day. The canoes will be pulled up below a grove of mahogany trees whose dense shade provides a welcome relieve.

After lunch and a short siësta you will paddle further until your find a good spot on one of the islands where the tents will be set up. During this canoeing safari you will sleep in transparent dome tents so that even during night time you can enjoy the starry skies and possibly passing game. The next morning when you wake up you will be surprised of the big footprints near your tent. Mana Pools is wellknown among nature lovers. The region shows a lot of variety - flat landscapes, hills, narrow channels and many small islands. Because of the scarce population and very little tourism there is a lot of game to be seen.

You will be accompanied by two qualified and armed guides who know the river like no other and they will safely guide you along the unavoidable groups of hippo's.

DAY 6 - 9
When arriving in Mana Pools you will spend tree nights in a true bushcamp. from here you will be able to experience the wildlife of Mana Pools by foot. This bushcamp has spacious walk-in tents with en-suite toilet facilities for night use and comfortable beds with fresh linen, full waiter service is provided. There is no electricity, lighting is by hurricane lamps and the campfire. To have a candlelight diner under thousand of stars together with the amplified sounds of the African night does make you feel you never want to leave.

DAY 9
After breakfast and a last short walk you will be driven back ± 4hours- to your hotel in Kariba. Here you can have a rest from all the activities and enjoy the comfort of your hotel or just simply relax near the swimmingpool with some cool drinks.

DAY 10
After breakfast you will be taken to Lusaka airport for your journey back home.

DAY 11
Arrival

Excluded: International flights - visa, park entry fees, lunch and diner in Kariba
