BOOK YOUR TRIP EARLY
We prefer to use small and intimate accommodations, managed by local touroperators who support the local people and their environments - at the most remote and unique locations avoiding mass tourism. These exclusive accommodations are extremely popular and are booked up very quickly. Some of them can only accommodate up to 8 people. If you are interested in any safari that we offer we advise you to contact us early so we can make arrangements and be sure to fit in the accommodation of your choice into your itinerary.

Likoma Island

Rated as one of the planets 10 most romantic destinations, Kaya Mawa is located on the south-western tip of Likoma Island in the east-central part of Lake Malawi, close to Mozambique. The Island is covered with mango trees and ancient baobabs and encircled by glorious sandy beaches and rocky coves.

Eight stone and teak-framed and thatched cottages have a panoramic view of the lake and private terraces with direct acces to the water. Each cottage has en-suite bathroom facilities, a four-poster bed, shower and a sunken stone bathtube. There is a honeymoon chalet with incredible views tucked away on its own private island. Kaya Mawa uses the stunning natural surroundings of beach, rock, island and lake to create a lodge of unique character, imagination and a very special ambience.

Activities include walking, biking around the island, swimming, snorkelling, diving, water sports, waterskiing and fishing. Guests can visit the cathedral and market in the harbour village or sail tot the Mozambican beaches nearby.
